Why I started Thine Bookmakers

Beautiful books have been a passion in my life for many a few years now. I have always prized art, and valued having thoughtfully presented physical editions of the meaningful stories that have had an impact on myself as a person. Holding a book in my hands which has had much care and consideration put into the crafting of it brings a sense of connection to what I find makes life so precious and purposeful. For myself, the act of first holding a beautifully bound book is a rather profound experience. Sadly, the majority of the publishing industry hasn’t the cultural interest today to be afforded the opportunity to put effort, intention, or creativity beyond a surface level into the books they produce. Of the select few publishers that do, they largely fall into the category of making elegant but stale and uninspired editions, or are forced to cater towards a small, wealthy clientele that can afford the prices required to maintain an independent press dedicated to artfully bound editions. The majority of the most beautiful books in my library are editions from publishing presses that have kicked the bucket, and largely faded into obscurity in culture today.

Shortly after I began collecting beautiful books, I slowly started to envision how I could resurrect and revitalize so many of the beautiful editions of books I own that are no longer in print and nearly impossible to find. To make a long story short, this press is the summit of that vision. My devotion with this publishing press is to provide others with beautiful editions of classic novels that are no longer available today, as well as create custom editions for those impassioned in literature. Whether you want a collected works of one of your favorite authors to sit on top of your bookshelf, or if you want to buy a gift for a loved one tailored exactly to their strongest sensibilities, there’s hardly anything I can’t do to create a one-of-a-kind binding of literature for you. In addition to making books, I will be making varying types of entertaining and educational content about literature and bookbinding, so if you have an interest I encourage you to go explore the different accounts I’ve made across social media platforms. If you’re curious or have questions, message me, and hopefully we can get a beautiful book on its way to you soon.
